JESSIE STAINTON - CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH

Created from scrap material, Cutfromthesamecloth is part of a series exploring intimacy and isolation throughout the Pandemic. A curtain acts as a veil that separates private from the public however, during Covid the two increasingly leak into one another producing an enlarged yet confined spatial paradox. The piece utilizes lighting variability and the varying outside environment to change form against the stagnant windowsill, an ode to life right now. In place of IRL viewing, an image description and ethereal soundscape (by Francesco De Gallo) attempt to transcend the uni-dimensional realm. I invite you to contribute your own experiences of the piece here.

A medium format timelapse of the curtain where light moves from indirect light to direct back to indirect. There is no audio.
